New York City and its vibrant and diverse neighborhoods are a trend shopper’s dream.  Our team recently ventured down to the Lower East Side to scout out some inspiration for upcoming collections.  This area is chock full of independent boutiques and vintage, thrift and second-hand shops.   They criss-crossed the neighborhood (and managed to squeeze in lunch at Katz’s!) and came back with a treasure trove of information.

Here is a summary of their report:

Colors:

-  Blush tones
-  Bronze metallic
-  Neutrals (Inspired by SP12 runway)
-  Bright Autumn colors

Prints:

-  Floral
-  Abstract designs
-  Stripes

Texture:

-  Ruffles
-  Pleats
-  Fur
-  Material combinations
-  Knits
-  Tweed

Hardware:

-  Minimal amounts of hardware

Street trends:

-  The return of menswear for women
-  Oversized frames for women
-  Sporty men’s frames for women
