Sara will be interning in the marketing/PR department as well as in product development. She was kind enough to share a little bit about herself with us and we hope you will enjoy meeting her. We are really excited to have such great interns joining our team this summer and couldn’t do it without them.
Where are you from? Rockland County, NY – about 45 minutes north of the city!
Where do you go to college? What is your major? I go to Marist College where I study Fashion Merchandising! I also have a minor in Business Administration.
How would you describe your personal style? I like to be fun and playful, yet elegant and classy at the same time. I’d say I’m always put together, and if you look closely there’s always something I’m wearing that makes me unique, whether it be actual clothing or just a funky nail color!
What is one item you own that has enormous value to you but none to anyone else? My vintage, plastic clutch. It’s completely see-through and is bedazzled with some rhinestones. I found it in my grandma’s place after she passed away. I’ve never not gotten a compliment when I’ve brought it out, and I always feel really chic when I use it. I especially love that it was my grandmother’s though. I like that I can take a little bit of her style, and the whole generations style with me when I go out.
Who is your style icon? Can a fictional character be your style icon? This may be a little cheesy, but I just love Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex in The City! She always wears the most absurd outfits but still looks fabulous. Maybe it’s her attitude that I like too. I also admire Coco Chanel. I did a report on her in 6th grade, naturally. She’s just fabulous as well!
What is your favorite summer activity on days off? One word- BEACH!
What did your first pair of sun glasses look like? Probably were Cinderella or some other Disney princess with lots of rhinestones and pink everywhere! According to my mother, I was dressing myself since 2 years old so Disney princess sunglasses are a given.
What is your favorite summer song? I’m obsessed with music so I would say my favorite song changes weekly. Right now Katy Perry’s Wide Awake is on repeat.
Where do you find outfit inspiration? I guess everywhere really. My friends,
strangers, magazines, blogs, twitter, facebook, tumblr. The list is endless… If you’re wearing clothes, I find inspiration from you!
What is your dream job? I have no idea!!! I wish I did. I just know I want to work in fashion, somewhere, somehow. NYC is my preferred location though! I like product development a lot and marketing and public relations too so hopefully in one of those fields. (Fingers crossed)
What do you hope to learn and accomplish by interning at B. Robinson this summer? Well first and foremost, I want to experience what it’s like to work a 9-5 job, in the city, like a real adult! But more specifically, I hope to learn all about B. Robinson’s company inside and out. Since I’m doing a product development and marketing and public relations internship, I know the knowledge I gain will be endless. I’m most excited about getting a greater understanding of product development through the hands on learning! I especially can’t wait to make inspiration boards- I love to be creative! Likewise, I’m excited to express my creativity on the marketing side too. I hope to learn all about how they market their products and learn what makes something really work. I hope I’m able to give back to B. Robinson as well. I really want to be an asset to this company and contribute in some way.
What is your favorite summer dessert? Anything with chocolate please!
What is your current favorite nail polish color? That’s another thing I’m obsessed with- my nails! I just love how you can get so creative and playful with them. Right now I’m really into coral pinks and oranges, and I think that will be my go to color this summer.
What is your favorite TV show – current and/or all-time? I don’t really watch that much TV, but I do watch Criminal Minds religiously so I’d have to go with that.
