It’s pretty hard to ignore the fashion eyewear craze being brought back to life by none other than professional basketball players. That’s right, the Geek Chic look is back and better than ever, as players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook rock the look during NBA post-game press conferences, often times without lenses! In the Wall Street Journal article “Fashion Plates of the NBA Make Specs of Themselves” featuring commentary from 20/20 Magazine‘s Editor-in-Chief, James Spina, many of the NBA all-stars claim to have been the trend setters of the current fad.  However,  it’s no secret that Geek Chic eyewear was, and always will be, “in”. Celebrities across the board are being spotted wearing this style of frame whether for legitimate optical needs or just for fashion’s sake.  We think it’s safe to say that the “Geek Chic” look may stick around for quite a while!
