Last week we met our summer intern Nicole; this week we got a chance to chat with Trina, another Marist student who will being joining the B.Robinson team this summer.
BR|LGC: Where are you from?
I am from Nashua, New Hampshire in Hillsborough County.
BR|LGC: Where do you go to college? What is your major?
I go to Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. I am a Fashion Merchandising major with dual business and product development minors and will be entering my junior year in the fall.
BR|LGC: What department are you working in while interning here at B. Robinson?
I am very excited to get the opportunity to experience multiple departments while interning at B. Robinson. Once a week I will be working closely with the PR/Marketing department and I will have the chance to contribute to the Product Development team twice a week.
BR|LGC: How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my style as tomboy-preppy with a retro twist. However, I also like to mix in elements of punk and bohemian chic into my wardrobe to add in different eclectic flairs.
BR|LGC: What is one item you own that has enormous value to you but none to anyone else?
My headphones, I cannot live without them. I am particular about my headphones. I do not like the ear-bud style; instead, I prefer to go with a classic pair of headphones with leather ear pads. My headphones go everywhere with me.
BR|LGC: Who is your style icon?
Since I like to dabble in different styles it is hard for me to name one style icon. I would have to say Emma Stone is a great style icon of today’s generation. She takes risks on the red carpet and never looks sloppy on the street.
BR|LGC: What is your favorite summer activity on your days off?
I love going to the park, particularly Central Park. There is no better place to enjoy the summer weather, a good book and people watch than the park.
BR|LGC: What did your first pair of sun glasses look like?
It is hard to recall what my very first pair of sunglasses looked like. I believe I got them when I was very young and they were probably bright purple.
BR|LGC: What is your current favorite song?
I currently really enjoy a cover song of “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by Sleeping At Last, but that is always changing. I love everything from the Ramones to the Beach Boys to She & Him.
BR|LGC: What is your favorite summer dessert?
Definitely ice cream! My favorite flavors are moose tracks and peanut butter cup.
BR|LGC: Where do you find outfit inspiration?
I can find outfit inspiration anywhere: the street, architecture, nature. Music is without doubt one of the biggest influences on my style. I listen to music from so many different decades and whichever decade has the most prevalence at a certain time is usually apparent by my outfit choices. One day I might dress like Bob Dylan, another I might take inspiration from Nirvana.
BR|LGC: Name one “now or never” moment in your life.
Over the winter break from college I spent two weeks studying abroad in Paris. I literally found out about the opportunity, called my mom, and applied right away! It was a once in a lifetime experience.
BR|LGC: What is your dream job?
I am still in the process of trying to figure that out, but I definitely want a chance to express my creativity and think out of the box on a daily basis.
BR|LGC: What do you hope to learn and accomplish by interning at B. Robinson?
I would really like to get a firm grasp of Product Development. It will be interesting to learn how B. Robinson as a company is able to maintain the integrity of the brands they design for and maintain each brand’s identity.
Thanks Trina – glad to have you aboard!
