Welcome to another new feature that we’re going to be making into a monthly series. B. Robinson/Legacie prides itself on being a third generation, family-owned and operated company and, in keeping with that notion, we’d like to introduce you to our extended family little by little. Our first subject is Elle. We thought it fitting to feature Elle first as she is the girl behind the screen and our social media queen bee. Everything you read on our blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc has been a result of Elle’s hard work.
Without further ado, please meet Elle:
BR|LGC: How long have you worked for BR|LGC?
Elle: Let’s see [counting on her fingers] EIGHT months
BR|LGC: Job Title & Description?
Elle: Well, I’m the Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator so I setup marketing initiatives with our accounts (most usually trunk show prep like postcards & ads), I pitch new products to the press & coordinate sending out samples, and I write body copy for press kits, releases, etc. But on top of that, I’m most known for being the social media guru in the office and subsequently, I’m responsible for all of our Twitter accounts (@BRLGCeyewear, @Kata_Eyewear, and @PURE_eyewear), our Facebook page, Kata’s Tumblr, publishing Cliff’s new blog Cliff’s Notes (Yes, I came up with that clever pun), and of course, this lovely blog.
BR|LGC: Do you need glasses?
Elle: If you saw me at my cube, you’d think “Uhh where are her glasses?” because most likely I’d be squinting and 5 inches away from the comp. screen BUT I haven’t gotten around to getting my eyes checked so… I don’t have an Rx. EVENTUALLY, when I find the time, I hope to be sporting these K211 Kata frames in either Olive or Tortoise/Navy – maybe both.
BR|LGC: How long have you lived in the NY Area?
Elle: In May, I celebrated my one year – so that makes it a year and a half? I moved here a week after I graduated from college.
BR|LGC: Where’d you go to College? What was your major?
Elle: I graduated from Penn State in 2010 with a BA in Public Relations.
BR|LGC: What’s the best thing about working in the city?
Elle: Being in the city in general. We basically are located in the middle so it’s easy to get around, meet up with friends after work, see the sights. The commutes easy. Oh but one of the best things is being able to order delivery from almost anywhere. A friend of mine was complaining that she was in desperate need of coffee one morning, and I told her to order some. She laughed at me – she works in Los Angeles and apparently that’s unheard of.
BR|LGC: Where’s your favorite restaurant?
Elle: For lunch – in the Flatiron district – I think Cafeteria. SO GOOD, especially the Truffle Parmesan Fries.
BR|LGC: What’s your favorite “Not For Tourists” thing to do in the city?
Elle: Geez, that’s hard because I still feel like a tourist – sometimes. Probably BRUNCH. I love brunch – NYC Brunch especially. Normal humans usually have brunch somewhere between breakfast and lunch (10-2PM). For New York, having brunch at noon is early. I prefer going around 2:30/3PM.
BR|LGC: What’s your coffee order?
Elle: I’m desperately trying to earn my Starbucks Gold Card, so I usually just opt for a Venti Pike. And then some days I treat myself to a Grande Non-Fat Vanilla Latte. (Please Note: If you’re feeling friendly and want to bring me a cup o’ joe, DO NOT confuse this with the Skinny Vanilla – it’s gross! Trust me.)
BR|LGC: Describe yourself with three words:
Elle: I hate questions like these; I don’t know why I wrote it. I just asked a friend, she said funny and girly, and I’ll just throw in hashtag-obsessed, because #ievenspeakinhashtags sometimes.
BR|LGC: If you could go ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, where would it be?
Elle: Back to Milan, Italy where I studied abroad for sure. Most people don’t find anything special about that city unless they’ve lived there. It’s still my home away from home, and I haven’t been there since 2009. I mean, raise your hand if your think New York would be even more amazing if it just had a few more castles?
BR|LGC: What’s your comfort food?
Elle: What ISN’T my comfort food? Umm, pizza, potatoes (salad, hashed, mashed), and Toblerone? But not usually all at once.
BR|LGC: Number One Played Song/Artist on your iPod:
Elle: Feel free to laugh; I do. I am currently OBSESSED with Selena Gomez. I have three of her albums and they stay pretty steadily on repeat.
