The summer intern season has officially begun and we are happy to welcome our first intern for Summer 2013! Nicole will be joining us during her time off from studies, so we sat down with her to get to know her a little better – check it out:
BR|LGC: Where do you go to college? What is your major?
N: I go to Marist College where I am will be completing my degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and a minor in Accounting.
BR|LGC: What department are you working in while interning here at B. Robinson?
N: I will be working closely with the Marketing department while here at B. Robinson; however, I hope to assist other departments in order to have a diverse and well-rounded experience.
BR|LGC: How would you describe your personal style?
N: Describing your own style is not as easy as it seems. My style is “Me.” It is not only a depiction of myself, but it also represents my moods and feelings. I would describe it is classic and chic. I like basic pieces, solid colors, and crisp lines. However, I like to take fashion risks with my shoes and I love outrageous tights. To me it is worth it to splurge on classic pieces that will always be wardrobe staples.
BR|LGC: What is one item you own that has enormous value to you but none to anyone else?
N: All of my clothes, shoes, and purses have enormous value to me. My dresses and heels are even the decorations in my apartment. However, my most prized possessions are my grandmother’s vintage dresses, which includes her wedding dress.
BR|LGC: Who is your style icon?
N: A true style icon is someone whose style is timeless; my style icon is Jackie Kennedy Onassis.
N: I love going to the beach or out on my family’s boat.
BR|LGC: What did your first pair of sun glasses look like?
N: I got my first pair of sunglasses as an infant. Growing up spending weekends on a boat on the Hudson River it was important to be equipped with the right pair of shades. They were hot pink and very fabulous.
N: My favorite song changes on a daily basis. Any song by Rihanna is sure to get me singing and dancing.
BR|LGC: What is your favorite summer dessert?
N: I am addicted to ice cream: vanilla soft serve with pieces of Oreos on top is my summertime delight.
N: I find inspiration from the runway, the streets of NYC, and the past. I like to take current trends and pair them with my favorite classic pieces in order to create an outfit that is uniquely my own.
BR|LGC: What is your dream job?
N: My dream job would be in marketing for a fashion company. This would be the perfect blend of business and fashion, which are the two things I am most passionate about.
BR|LGC: What do you hope to learn and accomplish by interning at B. Robinson?
N: I hope to learn and experience as much as possible. I would also like to experience the integration of the other departments in order to accomplish a common goal. I wish to take what have learned in the classroom and develop that into real world skills and knowledge. Most importantly, I hope that I can do things during my time here that will be valuable and helpful to the company.
Welcome aboard, Nicole!
